Susan Hoffman and I met through BNI (Business Networking International), a networking association for entrepreneurs. We met on a weekly basis every Wednesday morning to discuss how we might help one another grow our businesses. It so happened that she missed one of the weekly meetings as she went back East to visit her family. The following week, I walked in to the meeting to find a huge grin on Susan's face. When I asked her how her trip went, she flashed me her rock! Jason had proposed to her, and she was on cloud 9.
I was honored when Susan approached me and asked me to help plan her wedding day. When I asked her which date she had set for the wedding, she excitedly told be 7.7.07 - yep, lucky number 7!!
Since Susan and Jason wanted a beach, outdoor wedding, we scouted out the San Diego area. Her uncle was gracious enough to offer the couple his beautiful estate on top of the hill in Escondido, California, overlooking the beach for the ceremony and reception. I must say I was excited and nervous since I've only planned weddings in the Bay Area - this being my first destination wedding. With the initial guidance of fellow wedding consultant of the ACPWC, Joyce Biffar of Joyous Celebrations, I began planning, contacting, and interviewing vendors in the San Diego area.
After nine months of planning, the special day finally arrived. In keeping with the beach theme, Briarmist Cakes created a Tiffany Blue cake decorated with sea shells. The most memorable part was the ceremony, and the pouring of the sand - symbolizing the union of these two beautiful people. Congratulations Susan and Jason!!!
